TIPS FOR HOLI HAIR & SKIN CARE

The festival of colours is here. Along with all the Holi fun, it is also important to care for your skin and hair during the celebration. So, before you step out for Holi , here are a few things to keep in mind

HAIR CARE

Pre Holi Hair care 


The colours will make your hair dry and will cause split ends, it’s better to trim your split ends a day before Holi πŸ’‡

Take a hair wash a day before Holi to rinse away the accumulated dirt in your scalp, so that the colours don’t stick to them and cause scalp problems.πŸ§–

Oil your hair before you go out to play Holi. Oil acts as a moisturizer and it acts as a barrier preventing the colours to adhere to your scalp resulting in dry hair πŸ’†

Tying up your hair will prevent your hair from direct exposure to harsh colour.
Do not do any chemical treatment or heat treatment for your hair before Holi.πŸ™…

Post Holi hair care

Yes the first step is to wash your hair, but before that comb your hair to dust off the colours, if your hair is frizzy detangle it from the tip of the hair rather than from the hair rootπŸͺ»

Wash your hair by using non chemical shampoo or dry shampoo powders natural products or baby shampoo.🌻

After hair wash do not load your hair with chemical conditioner, use plain coconut oil or olive oil on the hair when it it wet and comb your hair 🫧🫧

Its good to apply hair pack after Holi but give your hair time to reset Use home made hair packs like curd, egg white, or methi hair pack 2 days after Holi. Opt for saloon treatment a week after Holi. πŸ‘±

SKIN CARE

Pre Holi Skin care

Most of these colours consist of chemicals that can cause dryness and irritation to your skin. In addition, all these chemicals absorb the moisture from your skin and thereby, making it flaky, dry, and prone to acne.πŸ§‘‍⚕️

If you have open pores in your face apply ice cubes over your face before stepping out to play Holi.

Apply sunscreen on the exposed parts🌞

Oils like Thil thail and almond oil creates a thick barrier on the skin preventing colours from harming your skin.πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

To prevent colours from harming your ear lobe and lips apply a thick coat of lip balm over ears and a thin coat around your lips πŸ§‘‍🦰

Post Holi Skin care 

Wash your skin with baby wash, do not use harsh soap or scrubs πŸ§‘

Moisturize your skin with Almond oil, thil thail or virgin coconut oil πŸ§’

If your face is dry and you need to detan or treat sun burn, use homemade packs made of curd, milk cream or turmeric or rose water according to your skin texture.🧚

Above all drink lots of water and liquids to keep yourself hydrated, eat properly and do not skip your breakfast for it gives you energy to keep celebrating Holi all through the day. 🀸
